DataBees is a database to store and process chemical-physical and melissopalinologicical data on honey samples and morphometric data on honeybees. This first single-user version was developed using "4th Dimension", a multimedia platform with a powerful relational database and an evolved programming Object Oriented language. Using DataBees it is possible: a) to acquire and file bee or honey data and to connect them with logic, dynamic and structured links; b) to optimise data acquisition time; c) to reduce the risk of error in data acquisition; d) to have a fast use of filed data for statistic purposes using DataBees or other software. A fast recall of a large amount of data using DataBees allows an improvement of statistical data analysis, by using multivariate approaches. Some examples of application demonstrate the efficacy of DataBees in managing data for either a geographical and botanical honey classification or bee races classification.
