Observations about Apis mellifera L. pollen importation
in a known botanical context in Alta Val Camonica

In this paper we present the results of observations carried out in Alta Val Camonica, an alpine valley in Lombardy, in order to measure the quantity and assess the quality of pollen importation of two honey bee colonies.

This study represents a starting point for evaluating the possibility for local beekeepers to commercially produce pollen. It is also an important basis for characterization of local honey, as analysis of the pollen is useful for the identification of botanical species visited by the honey bees.
